Sweet Static

Yes, another mp3 blog. Trying to share what I like with the world. The music here is for sampling only and are up for a limited time. It's simple really you see. If you like the music then go out and support the artists. Buy a cd/mp3/eight track, make a request on radio, see them live, tell others about it. This way this wonderful medium hopefully won't be stomped on.

Location: Windsor, Ont, Canada

Sweet Static is an mp3 blog that allows me to share the music I love and also to point out other cool things around the internet that catch my attention. It is also a place where I can talk about my radio show by the same name, now on Thursday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on CJAM 91.5 FM in Windsor, Ontario. Got something I should hear? Email me at sweetstatic @ gmail.com. All comments left here are emailed to my inbox, so you can get a hold of me that way also. You can also follow the show/me on twitter at sweetstaticcjam.

Feist's Monarch and more Feist

Well yes finally my computer was able to find my cd drives so I am finally able to bring you some selections from Feist's Monarch album. Released in 1999 on Toronto indie Bobby Dazzler and also independently I believe. My copy of the album has no reference to Bobby Dazzler and also a different title for the song "Family"

Anyways I've always loved this record. It's different from Let It Die, some more guitar on it. Really good collection of songs though and I'v picked three to share here. The files are up on Rapidshare as usual, individually and also as one zip file of all three.

-"Family" also known as "It's Cool to Love You're Family"
-"La Sirena"
-"Monarch"

The zip of all three can be downloaded here.

Well don't forget to check out Rbally for an excellent live show by Feist in Chicago

Also Chart Magazine's website has a story on Feist's plans for her next records. I thought I had posted this but I guess not. She's been working on it in France for about a month and expects it to be out early next year. From the article...

"There's definitely a lot more guitar," she said quickly before pausing, "I guess. I don't know yet. That's the fun. I'm still unwrapping it. Like, 'What's in there?'"

Ok a couple of more older Feist tunes coming this week. Also this weekend should see my review of this weeks Anti-Hit List, the Canadian college radio charts and updates on trying to clean some stuff up here on Sweet Static (already started by getting the links in alphabetical order).
