Sweet Static

Yes, another mp3 blog. Trying to share what I like with the world. The music here is for sampling only and are up for a limited time. It's simple really you see. If you like the music then go out and support the artists. Buy a cd/mp3/eight track, make a request on radio, see them live, tell others about it. This way this wonderful medium hopefully won't be stomped on.

Sweet Static is an mp3 blog that allows me to share the music I love and also to point out other cool things around the internet that catch my attention. It is also a place where I can talk about my radio show by the same name, now on Thursday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on CJAM 91.5 FM in Windsor, Ontario. Got something I should hear? Anti-Hit List review

Back with another installment of John Sakamoto's Anit-Hit List for April 22.

Lots of interesting things in this week that I really like.

-Going to start with Dirty Pretty Things which is former Libertines member Carl Barat's new band. Dirty Pretty Things' "Bang Bang You're Dead" (no mp3, just streaming) is a great, catchy rock song.
-Up next is Midlake with "Roscoe". Up on their Myspace page is 4 songs to download. Add in another 7 songs on their own homepage. I'm really digging this song and plan on checking out a lot more from them.
-Shack with "Shelley Brown" (no mp3 just streaming). First I've heard of these guys but from reading their bio, they've been around awhile. A new album coming out on Noel Galagher's Sour Mash label.
-Imaad Wasif's "Out In The Black" is a touring memeber of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Originaly from Vancouver he's releasing a solo record on Kill Rock Stars.

Also includes stuff from The Rapture, Paul Simon, the usual mashups and more. To read the whole thing for yourself head here.
