Sweet Static

Yes, another mp3 blog. Trying to share what I like with the world. The music here is for sampling only and are up for a limited time. It's simple really you see. If you like the music then go out and support the artists. Buy a cd/mp3/eight track, make a request on radio, see them live, tell others about it. This way this wonderful medium hopefully won't be stomped on.

Anti-Hit List review

Back with another installment of John Sakamoto's Anit-Hit List for April 22.

Lots of interesting things in this week that I really like.

-Going to start with Dirty Pretty Things which is former Libertines member Carl Barat's new band. Dirty Pretty Things' "Bang Bang You're Dead" (no mp3, just streaming) is a great, catchy rock song.
-Up next is Midlake with "Roscoe". Up on their Myspace page is 4 songs to download. Add in another 7 songs on their own homepage. I'm really digging this song and plan on checking out a lot more from them.
-Shack with "Shelley Brown" (no mp3 just streaming). First I've heard of these guys but from reading their bio, they've been around awhile. A new album coming out on Noel Galagher's Sour Mash label.
-Imaad Wasif's "Out In The Black" is a touring memeber of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. Originaly from Vancouver he's releasing a solo record on Kill Rock Stars.

Also includes stuff from The Rapture, Paul Simon, the usual mashups and more. To read the whole thing for yourself head here.
